Green Building Information

Welcome to the Volusia Home Builders Association green building web page!  Please note that this site will be continuously updated to provide the latest green building news, links and more.  After several months of extremely hard work, the VHBA's Green Building Task Force helped launch the VHBA Green Building Initiative.  The Green Building Initiative includes:
  • A model ordinance for local governments to adopt in an effort help promote green building practices and to become leaders in the green building movement.
  • The creation of the VHBA Green Building Council, which will provide educational, marketing, networking and speaking opportunities for green building professionals.   
  • The release of green information sections of the VHBA website for both builders and the public.
  • The inclusion of green building products and speakers at the VHBA's annual tradeshow. At the tradeshow, local companies will promote their green products to builders for inclusion in new or renovated green homes at the show's Green Alley! 

The Volusia Home Builders Association is currently working with local governments to adopt the VHBA's Model Green Building Ordinance, in an effort to establish a collaborative partnership of leadership on green building.  The Volusia Home Builders Association will continue to be a "green leader" in Volusia County.  After all, who knows green building better than builders?  Please feel free to browse the information below, and contact VHBA Director of Government Affairs Greg Blosé, at gblose@volusiahba.com should you have any questions.
